The Vineyards

The vineyards of Podere La Casetta are located near the Borgo di Montaione, immersed in an area suited to viticulture. The company mainly grows Sangiovese , alongside international vines such as Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah and Petit Verdot , as well as highly prized native Tuscan varieties, including Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, Colorino and Prugnolo Gentile . All the vineyards are registered in the Chianti DOCG and IGT Toscana registers. In addition, a small selection of white grapes is used to produce two passito wines.

The Cellar

Situated on the top of the hill overlooking the vineyards, the Podere La Casetta cellar extends for about 400 square meters, all underground. This particular architecture allows to maintain a constant natural temperature of around 18°C ​​all year round. The structure is divided into three main areas:

1. Area of
vinification
: it houses glass-lined concrete tanks with a capacity
total of 1,000 hectolitres .

2. Barriccaia :
dedicated to the aging of wine in barriques.

3. Tinaia : area of
refinement, designed to maximize the quality of the wines. A distinctive element of the cellar is its architectural design, embedded in the hill and made with stones coming directly from the vineyards. The internal vaults recall three typical Oscan structures: cross vault, barrel vault and “volticine” .

The wines of the Estate

Everyone
The wines of Podere La Casetta are produced exclusively with
grapes grown according to the principles of organic farming . The range is
wide and ranges from Chianti and Chianti Riserva to a selection
of prestigious Super Tuscans . Each vine is vinified
separately to maximize its features and reflect
the unique identity of the terroir

The Vineyards

The vineyards of Podere Il Sapito are located near the famous Franciscan convent of San Vivaldo , in Montaione. Both red and white grape varieties are grown here. Among the red varieties we find Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera , while among the white varieties we find Trebbiano ianco, Chardonnay and a small quantity of Traminer . All the vineyards are registered in the Chianti DOCG and IGT Toscana registers.

The Cellar

The Farm
Sapito does not have its own cellar, but uses the facilities of Podere La Casetta , located a few kilometers away. Here the wines are vinified and refined in dedicated containers,
ensuring maximum quality and traceability
