The Vineyards
The vineyards of Podere La Casetta are located near the village of Montaione, in an area well-suited for viticulture. The estate primarily cultivates Sangiovese, alongside international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, as well as highly prized native Tuscan varieties including Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, and Prugnolo Gentile. All vineyards are registered with the Chianti DOCG and IGT Toscana registers. Additionally, a small selection of white grapes is used for the production of two passito wines.

The Cellar
Located on top of the hill overlooking the vineyards, the winery of Podere La Casetta spans approximately 400 square meters, all underground. This particular architecture allows for a constant natural temperature of around 18°C throughout the year. The structure is divided into three main areas:
1. Winemaking area: houses vitrified concrete tanks with a total capacity of 1,000 hectoliters.
2. Barrel room: dedicated to the aging of wine in barriques.
3. Fermentation room: a refinement area, designed to maximize the quality of the wines. A distinctive feature of the winery is its architectural design, embedded in the hill and built with stones sourced directly from the vineyards. The internal vaults echo three typical Tuscan structures: cross vault, barrel vault, and "volticine" (small vaults).
The wines of the Estate
All wines from Podere La Casetta are produced exclusively with
grapes grown according to the principles of organic farming.
The range is wide, spanning from Chianti and Chianti Riserva to a selection
of prestigious Super Tuscans.
Each varietal is vinified separately to enhance its characteristics to the fullest
and reflect the unique identity of the terroir.
